Welcome to Marian House Care Home

Marian House was officially opened by Cardinal Hulme on the 11th February 1988 in response to the increasing care needs of frail, elderly Sisters of the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary CIO, who both own and manage the residence. It is a modern, purpose built Care Home, situated in beautiful, landscaped gardens in Uxbridge, Middlesex which offers a very pleasant, homely environment to all residents. Marian House welcomes Sisters of others Religious Congregations as well as its own members. A full-time Roman Catholic Priest Chaplain celebrates the Eucharist each day for Sisters and staff.

Marian House is registered with the CQC and, in a favourable recent inspection report, resident’s state that they are well cared for by polite, friendly, well trained and supervised staff. They also say that ‘Marian House is a community and we feel part of the community.’ Staff report good team working with good training and development opportunities. We welcome job applications from well qualified, experienced, compassionate carers and support staff. Informal visits to our Care Home are encouraged prior to application.

Marian House is situated close to Hillingdon NHS Hospital which offers residents immediate care at times of acute illness. Marian House staff work in close collaboration with the local G.P service, Palliative Care teams and Cardiac Nurses from Harefield Hospital. There are very positive relationships with other health professionals in the local area.

Acknowledging the rich contribution that both retired and younger people make to the lives of the elderly, volunteering opportunities are offered to suitable applicants. Students from local Brunel University work part-time at Marian House and also contribute to the social activity program of the Home.
